Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PasspoPet ("the App", "we", "our") is an iOS application developed and operated by Anna Veretennykova ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the rights available to you.

By downloading or using PasspoPet, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Country of residence
  • Account credentials (stored in hashed, encrypted form)

2.2 Pet Information

When you create a pet profile, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

  • Pet name, species, breed, gender, date of birth, and colour
  • Microchip identification number
  • Official vet-issued passport information
  • Vaccination records and due dates
  • Veterinary clinic name and contact information
  • Health events, treatments, and vet visit notes
  • Photos and document files you choose to upload

2.3 Technical Data

We may collect limited technical data to maintain and improve the App:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version
  • Anonymised usage logs (e.g., feature interaction frequency) used solely for app improvement

We do not collect advertising identifiers, location data, or data from third-party tracking systems.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the PasspoPet service:

  • To create and manage your account and pet profiles
  • To store and present health records, vaccinations, and official documents
  • To back up your data securely across devices
  • To send push notifications you have opted into (e.g., vaccination reminders)
  • To process optional in-app donations through Apple In-App Purchases
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve App stability

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable under data protection law (including the GDPR), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to provide the services you have requested
  • Legitimate interests — to maintain the security and stability of the App
  • Consent — for optional notifications, which you may withdraw at any time

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers — for secure data storage and backup. These providers act as data processors and are bound by data processing agreements.
  • Apple Inc. — for in-app payment processing. PasspoPet does not receive or store your payment card details.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required by law or court order to disclose information.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS
  • All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 or equivalent
  • Account passwords are never stored in plain text
  • Access to production systems is restricted and monitored

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take all reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Your personal data and pet records are retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data, pet profiles, documents, and backups are permanently removed from our systems within 7 days.

Anonymised, aggregated technical logs may be retained for up to 90 days for diagnostic purposes and cannot be linked back to you.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that inaccurate data is corrected
  • Deletion — request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent — opt out of notifications or other consent-based processing at any time

9. In-App Purchases & Payments

  • Optional tips and donations are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchases.
  • PasspoPet does not receive, process, or store your payment card information.
  • All payments are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.

10. Children's Privacy

PasspoPet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, it will be deleted promptly. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at support@annave.tech.

11. International Transfers

PasspoPet is intended for international use. If your data is transferred across jurisdictions, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, consistent with applicable privacy law. Cloud storage providers we use may operate in multiple regions; all are bound by contractual data protection obligations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the App before they take effect. The current version is always available at annave.tech/passpopet/privacy.

Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
